Une application pour le monitoring à domicile
des patients covid-19 par le médecin traitant
lancée ce week-end avec succès

A l’initiative de The Faktory (*), une alliance de développeurs bénévoles qui inclut e.a. les Réseaux Santé Wallon et Bruxellois vient de mettre à disposition une application gratuite et fiable de surveillance des patients covid-19 à domicile : SafeLink. 

L’opération s’est faite en étroite collaboration avec le Collège de médecine générale francophone. Plusieurs acteurs de téléphonie mobile soutiennent le projet, ainsi que la Ministre Christie Morreale. 

Safelink permet aux médecins de surveiller régulièrement l’état de santé de leurs patients Covid-19 qui se trouvent à domicile. Les patients transmettent minimum deux fois par jour leurs paramètres via l’application et le médecin peut évaluer leur état de criticité et intervenir le cas échéant. Cela permet également aux centres de tri et aux hôpitaux de s’adapter à l’évolution de la situation. Ce suivi est également continu : en cas d’indisponibilité du médecin référent, le médecin de garde aura la possibilité de « récupérer » sa liste de patients et d’en assurer le suivi durant le temps nécessaire. Enfin, les données récoltées sont anonymisées et mises à disposition des chercheurs et autorités compétentes afin d’assurer le suivi des mesures de sécurité liées à l’épidémie. 

Moins de 48 heures après son lancement, SafeLink est déjà utilisée par 503 médecins pour le monitoring à domicile de 374 patients atteints ou suspectés de Covid19.

First successful exit for The Faktory

The incubator and seed fund The Faktory is glad to announce the acquisition by Fluidra of its startup Riiot Labs. Fluidra is the listed Spanish multinational group devoted to the Pool & Wellness sector.

Founded in 2015 by two engineers from Liege and The Faktory, Riiot Labs developed and industrialized Blue, the first smart device for testing and analyzing the quality of pool water.

To do so, The Faktory, with its internal engineering team especially dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT), set up a complementary international ecosystem of partners. Riiot Labs also benefited from the strong and efficient support of regional authorities and agencies as well as local banks .

Riiot Labs is a good example of IoT projects The Faktory is looking for: a market driven startup launched quickly, developing a cutting edge product and able to find an industrial partner to take over and ensure the global leadership and growth of the company operated from Liège.

The entire Faktory team wishes all the best to Riiot Labs and Fluidra in their future achievements in the pool industry.

The Faktory graced by the visit of the King and the Queen

His Royal Highness King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium recently paid a royal visit to The Faktory’s second startup incubator in Verviers, a municipality located in the province of Liège.

Focused on startups, employment and the future of young apprentices, the royal couple met with several organizations, schools and international companies situated in this city dubbed as the Wallonia’s ‘Water Capital’, such as Télé-Service ASBL, IFAPME, Chocolatier Darcis as well as incubator and seed investor, The Faktory.

Economy and education of the future generation are subject matters that the king advocates frequently and the visit permitted the king to directly address his concern regarding new technology and employment. When asked if new technology will negatively impact jobs, Pierre L’Hoest, ex-CEO of the publicly traded EVS and now President of The Faktory, reassured that the world is in constant change and the future will be held by those who have the courage to go beyond the norms to bring about progress and prosperity of the community through transformation.

At The Faktory’s premises along Rue Jardon, some of the Faktory’s startups showcased their disruptive innovations such as Riiot Labs, an intelligent pool analyzer, HLO, interactive music apps and Fleye, one of the safest drones in the world. Till date, The Faktory have selected with scrutiny and incubated 11 projects under its wings from the 250 submitted projects.
